ATTENDANCE

  • In case of absence from classes for 3 days or more, the same is to be discussed with the concerned faculty well in advance. A written application should be submitted to the Centre Head, and approval taken for it. In case of absence on account of sick leave of 3 days or more, a medical certificate shall be duly provided by the student to the Centre Head.
  • Your parent / guardian will be informed in case of irregularity in attendance. A Student Performance Report shall be sent to parents or guardians once every 2 months. Discrepancies in the report may be communicated to the concerned faculty within 2 weeks of receipt of the report.
  • Any student remaining absent for more than 10 days without notice in writing, will be considered as an Academic Dropout and needs to pay a fee of Rs. 500/- for re-joining the classes in the same batch.
  • If a student wishes to re-join, the decision for which will be at the discretion of the Centre Head, he/she may be asked to transfer to a subsequent batch, in the interest of continuity. The batch transfer fee of Rs. 500/- will be levied in addition to the above fee, if the student is seeking admission into a different batch.
  • Re-joining will only be permitted if there is no change in the curriculum. In case there is a change of curriculum, the student will have to take fresh admission.
  • Please note that any request for a course down grade will not be entertained.

ONLINEVARSITY (OV) & COURSEWARE

  • OV is a social learning collaboration platform created for students, which also provides access to course books, videos, tips and tricks etc.
  • Every new student will receive an email from the OV providing a unique login ID and password, as soon as the student fee payment and other details are uploaded by the centre. The login ID will be active 24 hours after receipt of the mail.
  • The student will have to compulsory register on OV and download the books. The books will be available only through the OV platform.
  • Students must contact the centre authorities in case they have any problem with logging in or downloading books.
  • Students will not be allowed to appear for assessments, if they have not downloaded the books from OV.

TESTS & ASSIGNMENTS

  • Students must appear for all periodic tests and complete all assignments given to them for the purpose of internal assessment. Students who do not score the requisite marks in the internal assessment shall not be eligible to appear for the final assessment.

BREAK IN COURSE

  • Students will not be permitted to take a break in the course. In case of an emergency and only if deemed necessary by the institute, will such a case be considered, with a proper application for a break.
  • The student needs to pay his instalment for the month he/she needs the break in.
  • The student must take a No Pending Dues clearance from Accounts, which is countersigned by his/her trainer and Centre Head.

TRANSFERS

  • Transfer from one Lakmē Academy to another is allowed only if both these are in different cities. No transfers are allowed if the destination centre is in the same city.
  • Student must give an application to the Centre Head, giving valid reasons for the transfer.
  • Transfers would be allowed in the following cases: Family shifting base to another city; Student marriage that may necessitate a shift to another city; Any pressing circumstance which requires the student to shift to their hometown /another city.
  • Transfer is subject to availability of seats and the same course at the destination centre.
  • A transfer fee of Rs.1000/- shall be charged from the student during the time of a centre transfer by the originating centre. The difference in course fees, if any, shall have to be borne by the student.
  • Transfer policy and the difference in fees are subject to change. Students are requested to adhere to the policy in existence at that point of time.
  • Both transfer fee and difference in course fee are non-refundable.
  • A student must have completed a minimum of 3 months at the originating centre, before seeking a transfer.
  • Transfers will be granted only on completion of a module. The students must join the destination centre at the beginning of the next module.
  • The originating centre will generate a course completed advice on the basis of the student attendance marked on the Aptrack & logbooks signed by the student. Hence it is essential for the student to attend classes regularly and sign the logbooks.
  • The student must take a formal signoff from the originating centre with details of payments made, course/ modules completed and present the same to the destination centre upon joining.
  • In case of any financial loans / commitments taken at the originating centre, these must be cleared by the student and a no-objection certificate must be obtained from the Centre Head. These financial liabilities cannot be transferred from one centre to another centre.
  • These guidelines are binding for the student seeking centre transfer.

EXAMINATIONS

  • A student will have to appear for both Internal and External Assessments. While the Internal Assessments are conducted by the centre trainers, the external examination is conducted by the external examiners sent in by Lakmē Lever.
  • The final result is a total of the Theory & Practical Assessment conducted by external examiners.
  • The dates for the exam shall be fixed and informed well in advance.
  • It is mandatory for a student to appear for the assessment within 30 days of course completion.
  • If a student fails to take an exam on the specified date, he/she will have to pay a fine of Rs.2500/- to the centre before being allocated the next date. The only exception that would be considered is a serious medical emergency for self or an immediate family member, with due intimation to the centre.
  • Students need to clear all their financial dues to be eligible to appear for assessment.
  • The management retains the right to debar any student from appearing for the exams if his/her attendance is below 80% OR performance in the internal assessment is not up to the mark OR he/ she misses the exam, without prior intimation to the centre.
  • It is mandatory for students to download the books through Onlinevarsity. In case a student has not downloaded the books, he/she will not be eligible to appear for assessment.
  • Students are supposed to arrange for their own models for external assessment. The Academy will not be responsible for it.
  • Students who score 60% and above are awarded a Performance Statement & Certificate.
  • For a student who fails to obtain 60% in a subject or module, two additional reassessment opportunities are provided to improve scores.
  • For Skin & Hair, modules where student needs to reappear, will be specified. For Makeup, the students will have to reappear for the entire assessment.
  • For students who need to reappear for assessment, there is a one-month gap between the assessments for them to prepare well.
  • For students enrolled for the Cosmetology course, the course will be deemed as concluded, once assessments of all subjects i.e., Makeup, Hair and Skin are completed and 60% and more are obtained in all 3 domains.
  • The management reserves the right to debar any student involved in malpractice in the assessments. The student will be allowed to resume the course solely at the discretion of the Management.
  • The management shall make every effort to declare the results to the students within 8 weeks of conducting the examination.
  • Marks & Grades awarded by examiners cannot be disputed.

CERTIFICATION*

  • A student shall be awarded the relevant Performance Statement & Certificate upon completing the course registered for after obtaining above 60% score in external assessments and after having paid all the dues.
  • If a student fails to score 60% even after the 2 additional reassessments, they are awarded only a Performance Statement with the grade column left blank. No Certificate is awarded to them.
  • If a student is not able to complete the course enrolled for, he/she will not be awarded any lower credential.
  • In case the Certificate or Performance Statement is lost, a duplicate can be issued on written request subject to the approval of the Centre Head and payment of Rs. 500/- as processing fee.
  • All certificates will be issued only after receipt of full course fees and completion of all Academic requirements prescribed for the course.
  • Lakmē Academy Powered by Aptech is neither a University nor a College and does not confer or offer any Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Degree Courses.

PLACEMENT ASSISTANCE

  • Lakmē Academy Powered by Aptech offers placement assistance service to every student enrolled for all Careers Courses.
  • The Placement Assistance service is extended to the student for a period of one year, after the completion of the course.
  • Students must note that such assistance should not be construed as placement assurance or job guarantee.
  • Placements can be offered to a student anywhere in India, in any organization. Relocation expenses will be borne by the student.
  • A student is deemed ineligible for placement assistance in event of any of the following:
  • 1. If a student does not attend the complete training program conducted by the academy
  • 2. If the student has not paid complete course fees and is not certified
  • 3. If a student does not show continuing and participative interest in the placement assistance process
  • 4. If the student does not attend the interviews arranged by the Academy
  • 5. If the student refuses to take up the placement opportunity provided, after having gone through the selection process
  • If the student wants to re-register for placement, he / she will have to submit a request letter for placement to the centre head.
  • IN CASE OF SELF PLACEMENT: During the tenure of the course, if the student gets self-placed, he / she would have to sign an undertaking stating that he/ she will complete the course enrolled for and will pay the fee as per the installment schedule.
  • It is compulsory for the student to submit a placement testimonial within a week of self-placement.

STUDENT COMPLAINTS

  • Feedback/ Open House sessions are held for students of every batch. Students should let the concerned authorities know of their views, so that appropriate measures to improve the quality of services provided may be taken.
  • Students with queries or grievances need not wait for open house sessions to meet the Centre Head/Management, but should do so at the earliest, so that the management can take timely remedial action.
  • In case where feedback, queries or grievances of the student are not dealt with within 7 days by the Centre Management, the matter is referred to the Regional Head at the respective Regional Office.
  • If there is no solution provided by the Regional Office, then the matter is to be escalated to customercare@aptech.co.in

INFORMATION TO THE STUDENTS

  • Any changes that affect the student shall be communicated to the student by the Faculty in the class or through the Students’ Notice Board at the Centre.
  • It is the student's responsibility to apprise oneself of the communications made from time to time, irrespective of whether the student is attending or not attending sessions.
  • Communication regarding changes in specifications of services provided by Lakmē Academy Powered by Aptech or changes in Student Rules will be displayed on the Notice Board for a minimum period of one month. Any objections to these changes by any student should be brought to the attention of the Centre Head within this period. A student will be considered to have accepted the changes unless such an objection is received.

STUDENTS' CODE OF CONDUCT

  • All students enrolled at any Lakmē Academy at any location, will comply with the Code of Conduct. In the event of noncompliance, Lakmē Academy Powered by Aptech reserves the right to suspend/ expel any student or cancel the admission of the student. The student shall forfeit the amount paid by him/her towards the fee for the said course.
  • All students shall observe decorum while attending the course.
  • All students will abide by all the laws of the land and not be involved in any criminal, unlawful or immoral activity, either directly or indirectly.
  • All students will observe all the rules applicable in connection with the usage of the Centre infrastructure.
  • All academic and course material provided by the Lakmē Academy Powered by Aptech is copyrighted and is for the exclusive use of the student only. The same cannot be transferred, assigned, or sold to any person.
  • All students of Indian origin will submit the attested copy of all educational certificates, proof of birth, permanent and current residence address at the time of admission at the Centre.
  • All students of foreign origin will submit attested copies of their Visa and Passport in addition to the documents mentioned in the point above.
